We were blessed to experience the Lake Eyre Tour in June 2026. We were met at the Armidale airport by Grace & Brian Everett. Vehicles housed in a secure hanger then off we flew! Birdsville the first day via Bourke and then Thargomindah. Tour of Birdsville and onto Big Red for canapes and champaign - brilliant and by far exceeding expectations! Flight the next morning "downstream" to Lake Eyre was certainly a wonderful eye opener after recent rains and flooding. Lake Eyre was magical and mind-blowing to say the least - hard to realise that it is below sea level! A quick stop over at William Creek for fuel and lunch and then off to Parachilna for our next night at the famous Prairie Hotel. An afternoon 4wd trip up into the Flinders Ranges to Blinman and return was fascinating. The magnitude of the ancient ranges was beyond our expectations. Day three and off to Broken Hill for the night. A tour of Royal Flying Doctor Service operations again tremendous! Day four back to Armidale via Cobar (Australia is such a wonderful and huge country)! Our tour was such a great experience. Our every wish was catered for by Brian (our pilot) and Grace who attended to organising accommodation and meals. We thoroughly recommend this tour for anyone considering the experience of seeing the outback and Lake Eyre."
